The Gold Coast has a wonderland of theme parks to choose from, and
you'd be nuts to not at least visit one! In fact, as Australia's theme
park city it's possible to spend every day of your holiday at a
different amusement park!

Dreamworld Theme Park
Dreamworld covers a massive 30 hectares and has a collection of
awesome rides - many with a water theme to take advantage of the
gorgeous Queensland weather.
The theme park's attractions include thrilling rides like
Thunderbolt, Wipeout and Giant Drop - plus many, many more. Plus for the
littlies a Tiger Island theme world (with real tigers), a koala and
kangaroo sanctuary, a riverboat cruise, and 'Gold Rush Country'.
Claim to fame: The Tower of Terror - the world's tallest and
fastest thrill ride with speeds of up to 160km per hour.
Warner Brothers Movie World Theme Park
Warner Brothers' catch cry is "Where everyone's a star". It's all
about the movies at Movie World!
Popular movies such as Superman, Scooby Doo, Shrek, Lethal Weapon,
and Wild West have their own special adventure attractions. There's lots
of heart pounding rides, incredible visual effects, stacks of
memorabilia for sale, and a fantastic Main Street Star Parade. Kids will
love the 'Be a Hi-5 Star' Studio where they can star in and then take
home a DVD of their Hi-5 performance.
Claim to fame: High tech visual effects bringing the Movies to
life. Great for movie lovers.
Wet'n'Wild Water World Theme Park
Wet 'n Wild is Australia's biggest water theme park. Put on your togs
and your sunscreen and enjoy the brilliant Queensland sun while having
fun on rides that take you into as much water contact as possible!
(Don't worry there are lifeguards on patrol!)
Great rides include the Whirlpool, the Wet Roller Coaster, Mammoth
Falls, Giant Wave Pool. There's a beach to relax at, and a special spot
for children at Buccaneer Bay.
Claim to fame: It has the world's first wet roller coaster,
Australia's biggest water attraction - Mammoth Falls, and is Australia's
premier water theme park.
Seaworld
Seaworld is a kind of cross between a theme park and tropical water
zoo! People LOVE Seaworld because you can get close to dolphins, seals,
sharks and polar bears. Swimming with dolphins is on so many people's
wishlists, and at Seaworld this dream can become a reality (and you can
take home photographs to prove it!).
Animals aside, there are stacks of rides and attractions at Seaworld
to get your adrenaline pumping!
Claim to fame: Swim with the dolphins, see the most feared
species of shark in the world! Allows you to check off your holiday wish
list to get close to wildlife, and mix it with some fun.
Whitewater World Theme Park
Whitewater World is the offspring of Dreamworld. It's yet another
water theme park which claims to have the most advanced water ride park
ON EARTH.. Whitewater World has a variety of rides to keep everyone in
the family happy - extreme waterslides, and loads of water rides.
They also try and incorporate as much high technology into their rides
to give you a bigger thrill.
For kids there's Wiggle Bay, a toddler playground and a pipeline
plunge.
Claim to fame: Boasts four of the "world's best" water slides (watch
out for wedgies).
